These garden “watchdogs” feast on insects and can walk through a flowerbed picking off bugs without harming a single leaf. Heidi Caillard, developed a deep fondness for these birds that ran free in her garden and in 1974 she began to create her beloved guineas in clay. Today the Caillard guineas are famous throughout Provence. Heidi’s son Adrien now manages this unique enterprise. He and his family continue to create these fanciful birds in his mother’s tradition.
